Jars of Yarn

My sister crafted these lovelies for Christmas presents this year.  Cozy + beautiful, made from empty root beer bottles.  I’m making a list of all the things I want to wrap in yarn…candle holders, wine bottles, a vase.  Stunning on their own, yet simple enough to make a gaggle of – for yourself or your friends.  Ready to get started?

  • Find yarn, ribbon, twine or rope.  I love the fuzziness of yarn, but rope or twine could be nice for a more utility or beachy vibe.
  • Secure the end to the bottom of the bottle with a dot of glue.
  • Wrap, wrap, wrap the yarn closely around the bottle from bottom to top.  I like to keep each wrap closely lined up for a symmetrical look – but feel free to be more loose-handed if you like.  Use a spot of glue every now and again to keep it together.
  • At the top, glue once again and tuck the end of the yarn underneath your last row.  Clip any loose ends, and let dry.
  • Celebrate the craft goddess that you are!

xoxo, jill.
