Waiting, Waiting, Waiting…

Hello friends!  Here I sit at home – patiently awaiting the arrival of our first baby.  Who is either apparently going to have an extreme personality – either very Zen-like and calm (fingers crossed!) OR very stubborn and strong-willed.  The due date has come and gone and the little one sits snug and quiet, showing no signs of coming out to meet his/ her anxious parents!!  Oh well!  In the meantime, I’ve been catching up on all things web and wasting enjoying lots of time reading, window shopping and bookmarking future craft projects and recipes (for when I have some free time around about – say, oh, 2013.)  A few favorites from the week so far:

After many, many delays – my iPhone 4S is scheduled to arrive tomorrow.  And I think I’ve found the perfect case!  A hard case just waiting for you to apply your own cross-stitching wizardry.  Love.

Shop to Love: Olive Manna

Hello bloggy friends!  I’m so sorry for my absence – life has been so amazingly FULL lately that I’ve had to let a few things fall to the wayside.   Regular blog posting being one of them.  I’ll try to be back a little more often this fall, but with the arrival of baby Sones fast approaching – I’m not making any promises:)  In the meantime –  I wanted to share some soothing eye candy with you this Tuesday.

A shop I’ve long adored – but recently rediscovered, Olive Manna, is proving to be a great site for nursery inspiration!  After spying this nursery nook on ohdeedoh, I immediately hopped over to Olive Manna’s shop to track down some must-have supplies.

A few of my current obsessions are shown here – don’t you think they’d make the perfect finishing touches for a nursery?  Soothing for baby and mom…

I’m off to place an order pronto!

Today I’m Loving: Muji

I’m headed to New York City this week for some research and shopping and CAN’T WAIT to see what’s new in-stores!  One of my most favorite stores to see in New York, London or Tokyo is Muji.  They make and carry the most simple, well-designed and affordable home goods, office wares and clothing that I can’t ever leave empty handed.

I’m hopelessly addicted to their ball point pens and craft paper envelopes. I have drawers full both at home and at the office.

I love to buy their notebooks in bulk and personalize them with Japanese tape or rubber stamps to give as gifts.

And some other faves: the uncloggable spray bottle; city in a bag wooden blocks make perfect the perfect souvenir gift for kids both big and small; softest socks!

Can’t wait to see what they have in store this week!

Inspired By: Painting to Outfit

I’ve been admiring various oil paintings lately. And when I ran across this beauty on eBay, I was particularly smitten with the to die for colors.  Natrually, I did what any girl does and turned it into an outfit that would transition perfectly from summer into fall.

Anorak; Shirt; Skirt; Boots; Silver Leather Bracelets; Black Leather Wrap Bracelet.

What do you think?  Better left to the art world, or as art brought to life?

Shop Talk: Canvas

Oh wow!  It’s rare that I find a shop that I want to buy nearly everything they stock.  I found one exception recently with Canvas, a beautiful home store that sells ceramics, wood, textiles, furniture and on and on.

Their styling is amazing, their edited assortment to die for…and possibly my favorite part – everything they sell is created by artisans and craftsman that practice fair trade and green principles.  Perfect.  Products that not only look good, but you can feel good about buying – even in mass quantity as I plan to do!

Pop on over to check out their fantastic shop this weekend!

Happy Friday friends!

xoxo, jill.
